Thanks-Giving Ends Thursday?11/27/2013 by Bro
The month of November ushers in some great things for what many consider the most wonderful time of the year. No-Shave November, the best days for deer hunting, and Thanksgiving make this month one of the best. If you look on Facebook, you'll see plenty of folks celebrating Thanksgiving all month long with their daily offering of thanks for different things in their life. And while I'm sure God loves the sincere posts from those with heartfelt thanks-giving, I can't help but wonder what God's thinking on Black Friday. For nearly a month we've thanked Him daily for everything from our family and friends, to cold beer and tall lattes. And then it all abruptly stops. Things change quickly come Thursday afternoon when our bellies are swollen and we've found a warm, lazy spot on the couch. How many Facebook posts will you find regarding a heart of thankfulness when Friday rolls around? Watch it happen tomorrow. We'll start the day with Thankfulness. Sadly it will often end with Thoughtlessness. Will thanks-giving end on Thursday for you and your family? Psalm 106:1 says, "Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever." His faithful love endures forever! So why do we limit our thanks to Him to a handful of weeks in the fall? God is good all the time. Praise the Lord continually. Let your thanks be endless. Bundy's Buck11/26/2013 A big congrats to friend and Mathews media boss, Corrine Bundy, on her awesome Indiana buck!
See the Mathews lineup for 2014 at www.mathewsinc.com Dylan's Buck11/19/2013 Dylan Clubb strikes again! I love this kid because of his passion for bowhunting, but even more, his love for Jesus. I had the opportunity to baptize Dylan a few years ago as he decided to follow Christ. I've been blessed by his desire to serve the Lord with his life here on this earth. I wish there were more kids out there like Dylan. Congrats my friend! You are the man! Keep it up!
What's Your Agenda?11/15/2013 What's your agenda in this life? Are you trying to be important or do what's important? Here's some words of wisdom from Matt McPherson of Mathews INC.
Bro's TN Buck11/12/2013 I've been a little off the radar the last couple weeks as my favorite days of the year have finally rolled around and I'm spending as much time as possible in the treestand. Our new ministry efforts (sportsmenchurch.com) and move back to TN have brought a welcomed return to my whitetail hunting roots. I'm back in the county I killed my first deer 25 years ago. It's been an exciting return to the "good ol' days" of chasin' deer.
Just weeks after settling in to our new home, I was blessed in taking a great buck on the first sit in a new stand not far from my house. The buck responded to my second rattling sequence, coming from behind my stand. I saw enough bone as the buck cruised through the brush to know I was gonna let an arrow loose. I stopped him just before he cleared a shooting lane I had cleared just days before. My arrow covered the 30+ yards in a flash. The arrow smacked hard and the buck took off. The lung-shot buck was dead in 3 seconds, crashing just 50 yards away. I couldn't believe what just happened. On day one of November I had killed what may be my best buck of the year. It was a great start to my favorite season of the year!
