Thanks-Giving Ends Thursday?11/27/2013 by Bro
The month of November ushers in some great things for what many consider the most wonderful time of the year. No-Shave November, the best days for deer hunting, and Thanksgiving make this month one of the best. If you look on Facebook, you'll see plenty of folks celebrating Thanksgiving all month long with their daily offering of thanks for different things in their life. And while I'm sure God loves the sincere posts from those with heartfelt thanks-giving, I can't help but wonder what God's thinking on Black Friday. For nearly a month we've thanked Him daily for everything from our family and friends, to cold beer and tall lattes. And then it all abruptly stops. Things change quickly come Thursday afternoon when our bellies are swollen and we've found a warm, lazy spot on the couch. How many Facebook posts will you find regarding a heart of thankfulness when Friday rolls around? Watch it happen tomorrow. We'll start the day with Thankfulness. Sadly it will often end with Thoughtlessness. Will thanks-giving end on Thursday for you and your family? Psalm 106:1 says, "Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever." His faithful love endures forever! So why do we limit our thanks to Him to a handful of weeks in the fall? God is good all the time. Praise the Lord continually. Let your thanks be endless.
