He Ain't Cleanin' His Room! - Blog2/27/2013 I'm often amazed at just how much my little 7-year-old son, Aidan, reminds me of myself as a child...and as an adult. My wife recently asked, "Do you know where Aidan is?" She said, "He's not cleaning his room." One quick look out the window at the backyard and I knew exactly where he was. He had snuck out of the house with his bow in hand and was stackin' arrows in the hog target from his "treestand."
I'll be honest, I struggle to punish a kid that is neglecting his chores so he can shoot stuff with his bow. I'll have to work on that...maybe.

3-D Season Is On2/25/2013 Mike Lloyd checks in from the year's first 3-D shoot...
This past Sunday my daughter and I had the chance to head over to the Cataldo Mission 3-D shoot. It was great to get out and punch some foam. It is the first time that the both of us had shot outside and you could tell. I started off horrible due to the fact that I was trying some new gear and after the first seven targets I decided to switch back to my old release. It started to click for me after that. My daughter Jalyssa did good given the fact that she hasn't shot much since last year. When it was all said and done she got 4th place and I didn't even turn in my score card. Turkey Ride - Blog2/24/2013 I got out on the bike for a ride around the valley this morning for some turkey scouting, exercise, and to simply soak in the greatness of God. I love this time of year as we see the beginning of the transition toward spring. I rode up on a flock of about 50 turkeys, with a handful of jakes that were doing their best to figure out who's the boss. I snapped a few pix and then kept on ridin'. It was good to get out and see the first strutters of the year. It won't be long until turkey seasons crank up for a few of our guys back in the southeast. We'll be taking you through all the pre-season action and posting hunts as they unfold, right here at www.thrutheseason.com . Be sure to check back often for all the latest. Bro's Hog2/20/2013 I just wrapped up a couple days of hog hunting with some great guys from First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO. We were back down at the Working Man's Bow Ranch in Daingerfield, TX. The death angel hovered over this place as 12 hogs were put in the coolers. I had lots of action on the first evening sit, but it was on my second evening hunt that I got to drop the string on my new Mathews Creed on a great hog. The hog weighed in at 215 pounds.
It was great to get back into the stand and break in the new Creed on live targets! Gear Used: Mathews Creed - www.mathewsinc.com, Black Gold Ascent - www.blackgoldsights.com, Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro - www.trophytaker.com, TightSpot Quiver - www.tightspotquiver.com, The Bow Lite - www.thebowlite.com Beast Feast FBCKC - Blog2/16/2013 It was a great night tonight at the Beast Feast put on by my friends at First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO. I had the opportunity to share a hunting seminar and deliver a message on life's greatest deception. A big thanks to these guys for the opportunity to speak to their people again this year.
Hog Run2/15/2013 The Wee-Wee-Wee-All-The-Way-Home Pin is set on the Mathews Creed, and it's time to do a little damage on some Texas hogs! I'm looking forward to being back again with the guys from First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO this year. I'll be speaking at their sportsmen's banquet, sharing at their church service, and then headed to TX for the men's hog hunting retreat. We did the hunt last year in May, and conditions were pretty tough. We're hoping for more daylight action with a trip there in February. We'll be hunting at the Working Man's Bow Ranch.

First 3 From the Creed2/13/2013 I ran by Wholesale Sports this morning to let my buddy, Paul Roush, get my new Mathews Creed tuned up. Paul does as good a job as anybody I know on fine tuning a bow. Despite a busy afternoon in getting ready for church tonight, I couldn't resist slingin' a few arrows at the hog target in the backyard. First impressions...despite being pretty skeptical that anything could be as good as last year's Mathews Helim, I really liked what I saw, and felt, in the new Creed. It's a great shooter. I look forward to getting things dialed in. More to come on the new Mathews Creed in the days ahead.
The Creed Has Arrived2/12/2013 After much impatient waiting, my new Mathews Creed finally arrived today! My wife has laughed at me for weeks as I've begged the UPS man to pull up and bring me a bow box. I'm flying out this week to FBC Kimberling City, MO to do a hunting seminar at their Sportsman's Banquet this Saturday, and share at their church service on Sunday. Then its off to chase hogs in Texas for a few days at the Working Man's Bow Ranch. www.workingmansbowranch.com
Time to get a bow put together! Bone for Branden - Blog2/9/2013 Remi Boy - Blog2/5/2013 Little Remi boy made his first media debut today at the Mathews, Inc. Facebook page! A big thanks to my friend, Meghan Koshatka, for one really cool photo of my boy! http://www.facebook.com/brodie.swisher#!/mathewsinc
