Double Up With Friends.

11/28/2014

It's always fun to hit the woods with good friends in pursuit of big bucks...or does. I recently had the chance to tag-team with my buddy, Luke, here in West Tennessee. He shot a pretty 10-pointer and I stuck a big fatty when she walked in front of my stand, 5 minutes after I climbed up. Good times!

Avery's Buck.

11/27/2014

Avery continues to show her little brothers how it's done in the whitetail woods. Not to be outdone by her little brother shooting a doe earlier in the year, she climbed into a box blind and shot a young buck shortly after daylight.
Way to go Avery!

Thankful for critters to chase, family, friends, and a Savior that took my place. Happy Thanksgiving!

In Pursuit...Hating Our Hate.

Day 71 of the In Pursuit book...(Must read devo for outdoorsmen)

Hating Our Hate

Fighting VS. Forgiving. It was a pretty simple choice as a child. Your natural instinct was to hurt the ones that hurt you first. Don't get mad...just get even, right? And as much as we'd like to say we grew out of that stage of life, it honestly seems to carry over into adulthood for many of us. It lingers deep within us to choose a fight over forgiveness. How would we react if we were in Rick Garmon's shoes? I like to think I would have a good, godly, Christian response. But honestly, I would probably be trying to make a deal with God along the lines of, "Lord, I won't kill him...just let me give him a beat down that'll make him wish he was dead." I would want revenge! I would want someone to suffer for the pain inflicted on the ones I love. And hopefully at that moment I would remember that someone has already paid for that pain. Someone has already suffered for the sin and poor choice that hurt me or my family. It's Jesus. He's got it. Just let it go and let Him have it.  bro

Bro's Mathews NO CAM HTR

11/14/2014

I got my new Mathews NO CAM HTR bow in yesterday afternoon and made a mad dash to get it dialed in before dark to use on today's hunt. I was honestly a little skeptical of this new design concept, but after the first shots, all doubt was gone. Mathews has done it once again! As Matt McPherson says, "You just gotta shoot it to believe it."
It's very smooth, quiet, and incredibly accurate...even for a jumpy shooter like myself.
Check it out at Mathews.com.

Two Are Better Than One.

11/10/2014

The Bible says, "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed."
And that's pretty cool, especially when it comes to success in the whitetail woods. A big congrats to Mike & Corrine Bundy on a couple great bucks they recently killed with their Mathews bows.
