Turkey Seminar @ Bellevue Baptist Church3/29/2014 I had the opportunity to kick off a three night run of speaking at events in TN and IA with a turkey seminar at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Bellevue is my old home church where I grew up as a child. It was a lot like a reunion, catching up with old friends and making new ones. It was a great night of talking turkey before the TN season opens up. A big thanks to the Bellevue Sportsmen crew for the opportunity to be a part of this event. Lives changed...souls saved.

Killer Dekes - Avian-X Feeder3/26/2014 After this past weekend's Youth Turkey Hunt in Tennessee, I've decided to include another turkey decoy from Avian-X before moving on to cover some other decoys. I was incredibly impressed by what I saw over the weekend with the new Avian-X Feeder decoy. The action was really slow Saturday but we did manage to call up an old smack talkin' hen. She marched straight in to the Feeder decoy and began feeding right beside her (see photos below). This Feeder decoy works as a curiosity decoy as well as a confidence decoy. I've honestly never seen a live bird hang around the decoys so long. She wouldn't leave! Even with my little 8-year-old son, Aidan, and 3 other big hunters shiverin' in the brush just 8 yards away. First impressions? This decoy will be a part of every decoy set for me from now on. See it at www.avian-x.com.
Efton's GA Gobbler3/25/2014 Efton Green got the Georgia turkey season started off right with a great gobbler with his bow. Way to go Efton!
Killer Dekes - Avian-X LCD Strutter3/18/2014 We're spotlighting the best decoys in the business as we crank up the 2014 spring turkey season. Up first is the incredible strutting decoy from Avian-X. This decoy not only looks like the real deal, but it also has one of the easiest tail fan mounting systems ever created. It's a very user-friendly decoy. Here's the skinny on the Avian-X LCD Strutter... The nation's longbeards have one more thing to fear this Spring - the new Lifelike Collapsible Decoy (LCD) Strutter from AVIAN-X! Featuring a true-to-life body posture, incredible feather detailing, and a revolutionary "No-Flake" paint scheme, the Stutter is hard to tell apart from the real thing. The Strutters's non-aggressive pose makes the decoy attractive to both dominate and subdominant gobblers, while its size keeps it non-threatening and portable. Crafted from rugged Dura-Rubber, the LCD folds tightly and fits easily into a turkey vest, yet won't crease or dent like earlier folding decoys. Realistic motion comes via a unique one-piece folding stake system that allows for ample movement, but prevents the unnatural 'spin' common with lighter decoys. The 24-inch stake assures the LCD sits higher, increasing the decoy's visibility even during the late season. Price: $119.99 Check out all the latest from Avian-X at www.avian-x.com. East Union Wild Game Dinner3/12/2014 We had a great event this past weekend close to home here in west Tennessee. I had the opportunity to be the speaker for the annual Wild Game Dinner at East Union Baptist Church near Jackson, TN. There was a variety of wild game on the menu, including beaver, gator, coon, as well as all the normal critters. At the end of the night there were 12 people that made the decision to follow Jesus. And that's why we go. Good stuff.
Antrim BIC Wild Game Dinner in PA3/2/2014 I had the opportunity to speak at the Antrim BIC Wild Game Dinner in Chambersburg, PA last night. There was 600+ in attendance at this year's event. Not too shabby for a church of only 300! It was a great night with lives changed, people getting right with God, and plenty of good grub. A big thanks to the Antrim crew for the opportunity to be a part of this year's event.
